This papercut tells the story of the simplicity and beauty of Alpine life. According to the Oberland poet Johann Jakob Romang, who had this nostalgia for the Saanenland:

In the papercut is the extreme contrast between the high society and nature showed, which is unique in Gstaad.
The Gstaad Palace, which can be seen at the top of the silhouette, says itself "it is not a fairy tale, it is real" and that is exactly what it is.
Can you recognise all the apline plants on the silhouette? In the middle you can see edelweiss, crocus and gentian. At the edge you can see alpine roses and the "Flühblume".
